Georgia football’s 2025 offseason has been anything but quiet. Things kicked off with a bombshell when quarterback Carson Beck announced he was forgoing the NFL Draft to transfer to Miami (FL). That major development, arriving in early January, set the tone for what has been a whirlwind few months for the Bulldogs.
Although Beck’s departure was a significant blow on paper, it opened the door to an intense quarterback competition. Gunner Stockton and Ryan Puglisi are currently vying for the starting role, with Stockton appearing to have the edge for now—but the outcome is still far from certain.
Head coach Kirby Smart also made moves in the transfer portal, securing key additions like standout wide receiver Zachariah Branch and linebacker Elo Modozie. Additionally, Georgia landed a major win on the recruiting trail by earning a commitment from Jared Curtis, the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the 2026 class.

The Bulldogs have already hosted their first major recruiting weekend with nine official visitors and plan to continue welcoming top talent throughout the month.
Come July, attention will shift to full-scale preseason preparations, which will peak in August as Georgia gears up for what promises to be another high-stakes campaign.
