Port Orange DL Freddie Wilson Commits to Georgia Tech Over Miami, UCF, Others

PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Spruce Creek High School standout Freddie Wilson, a highly regarded defensive lineman in the Class of 2026, has announced his commitment to Georgia Tech.

Wilson, a 6-foot-2, 265-pound three-star prospect, chose the Yellow Jackets over a competitive list of offers that included Miami, Minnesota, Houston, UCF, and several other programs from across the country.

“I felt like Georgia Tech is the best fit for me — both on and off the field,” Wilson said in his announcement. “The coaching staff made me feel like a priority, and I believe in what they’re building in Atlanta.”

Ranked by 247Sports as a Top100 player in the state of Florida, Wilson is also slotted as the No. 72 defensive lineman nationally in the 2026 cycle. Known for his explosive first step and relentless motor, Wilson has been a disruptive force on the Spruce Creek defensive line and is expected to be a major addition to Tech’s future front seven.

With Wilson’s commitment, Georgia Tech continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail as it shapes a strong 2026 class.
