Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow is exploring a return to the NFL. Renfrow, who last played in the league during the 2023 season, has reportedly visited both the Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers as he weighs his options.
Renfrow first made a name for himself in college, playing a key role in Clemson’s 2017 national championship victory over Alabama. His clutch, game-winning touchdown catch with just two seconds remaining sealed Clemson’s 35-31 triumph.
However, his success extended beyond college. In the 2021 NFL season, Renfrow delivered a breakout performance for the Raiders, tallying 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns. Now, he’s looking for another opportunity to make an impact at the professional level.
Hunter Renfrow visited the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Rapoport also reported that the 5-foot-10, 185-pound receiver “plans to play in 2025,” making him an intriguing option for teams in need of a slot receiver.
Known for his sharp route running rather than elite speed, Renfrow has a knack for getting open. In his most recent NFL season, he recorded 25 receptions for 255 yards but did not find the end zone.
Originally selected by the Raiders in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Renfrow spent five seasons in Las Vegas. Now, he is considering a return to his home state with the Carolina Panthers, as the former Clemson standout hails from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
