J’Lon Lyons delivers a clear message to Indiana men’s basketball.

Indiana men’s basketball has extended a scholarship offer to J’Lon Lyons, a four-star point guard in the class of 2027, according to his social media.

J’Lon Lyons, a four-star point guard in the class of 2027, has received a scholarship offer from Indiana men’s basketball, according to his social media. Lyons currently attends Grace Brethren Christian School in Clinton, Maryland, and competes on the adidas 3Stripes Select Basketball (3SSB) circuit with DMV-based New World AAU.

He also holds offers from Florida State, Mississippi State, Syracuse, and Villanova.

Notably, Lyons picked up an offer from Georgetown last October while current Indiana assistant Kenny Johnson was on staff with the Hoyas. That offer likely reflected his local ties as much as his talent, but Johnson’s deep connections in the DMV area could be a significant factor for Indiana in this recruitment.

While Indiana is far from the only school pursuing Lyons, extending an early offer helps establish a relationship and shows long-term interest — a potentially key move as his recruitment develops.
