Indianapolis continues to hold a grudge against Tom Brady.
On Sunday, Brady attended the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana, as part of FOX’s broadcast team. He was introduced to the crowd before the race during the driver introductions.
Dressed in a full FOX Sports racing uniform, Brady was met with loud boos from the audience. He appeared to embrace the hostile reaction.
The crowd’s boos echoed even more intensely at the venue.
The chilly reception was directed solely at Tom Brady, with Jimmie Johnson and Michael Strahan receiving far less hostility from the crowd. This reaction is unsurprising, given Brady’s history of defeating the Indianapolis Colts, including an 8-4 record against Peyton Manning and the team during his career, not to mention the Colts’ involvement in the Deflategate controversy. The animosity between Brady and Indianapolis fans clearly lingers.
Brady, no stranger to boos, likely took the response in stride. If anything, he might consider it a badge of honor.
