Arkansas head coach John Calipari will make his much-anticipated return to FedExForum on Oct. 27, when the Razorbacks take on Memphis in the Hoops for St. Jude Tip-Off Classic presented by Bad Boy Mowers. The charity event, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, will tip off at 8:00 p.m. on ESPNU.
The exhibition marks a special homecoming for Calipari, whose legacy in Memphis remains significant. From 2000 to 2009, he guided the Tigers to a remarkable 252–69 record, winning seven conference championships and earning six NCAA Tournament berths. His tenure featured four Sweet 16 appearances, a national runner-up finish, and the 2002 NIT championship.
During his Memphis years, Calipari also coached a roster of future NBA talent, including Derrick Rose, Dajuan Wagner, Rodney Carney, Shawne Williams, and Tyreke Evans, while producing seven All-Americans and 22 all-conference selections.
