One of the three standout additions in NC State’s 2025 basketball recruiting class, Sagemont Prep (Fla.) five-star Matt Able is poised to reap the rewards of high-level competition this summer. Before beginning his freshman season in Raleigh, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound sharpshooter will test his skills against some of the nation’s top prep and college players—with a potential chance to shine on the international stage.

On Tuesday, USA Basketball officially announced Able as one of 33 invitees to the USA Men’s U19 National Team training camp, set to begin June 14 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Ranked No. 26 nationally in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, Able continues to solidify his reputation as an elite rising talent.
If Able impresses against elite rising sophomores, incoming freshmen, and top 2026 prospects at the prestigious training camp, he could earn a spot on the final 12-man roster representing the United States at the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup in Lausanne, Switzerland, which tips off on June 28.
Joining Matt Able in NC State’s 2025 recruiting class are two promising freshman big men: four-star forward Zymicah Wilkins from Christ School (N.C.) and Congolese center Paul Mbiya.
First-year head coach Will Wade continues to shape the 2025–26 Wolfpack roster, which currently includes at least six transfer additions and a handful of returning players, with more moves likely still to come.
