NC State Basketball Scores Exciting Recognition as One of the Top Offseason Winners

NC State basketball saw six players depart from its 2024-25 roster via the transfer portal. However, first-year head coach Will Wade and his staff had little trouble filling those gaps—and then some. The Wolfpack reloaded in a big way, landing eight transfers and securing four high-level recruits this offseason.

Thanks to this impressive haul—headlined by eight newcomers graded as four-star prospects—NC State’s roster construction has earned widespread national praise. Notably, The Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman ranked the Wolfpack coaching staff among the top 10 offseason winners in the country, placing them at No. 7 overall.

Jeff Goodman included just one other ACC program in his top 10 offseason winners: the Louisville Cardinals, who landed one spot ahead of NC State at No. 6 overall.

Topping Goodman’s list were the Iowa Hawkeyes, Michigan Wolverines, Kentucky Wildcats, St. John’s Red Storm, and the reigning national champion Florida Gators, holding the No. 1 spot.
