As only a junior at Long Island Lutheran School (N.Y.), point guard Dylan Mingo has already attracted more than a dozen scholarship offers. While NC State hasn’t extended one yet, that could change soon. First-year Wolfpack head coach Will Wade and his staff are showing growing interest in the dynamic floor
According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, coaches from NC State, Oklahoma, and Texas visited Long Island Lutheran earlier this week to scout Mingo in person.
Dylan Mingo, the younger brother of four-star combo guard and 2025 Penn State signee Kayden Mingo, ranks No. 9 overall, No. 3 among point guards, and No. 1 in New York in the 247Sports Composite for the class of 2026.
“Few are better when it comes to getting to his spots on the floor and exploiting even the smallest openings in a defense to attack the lane and create,” 247Sports’ Eric Bossi observed last week. “Make no mistake—Mingo is quick and has well above-average instincts off the dribble. But what makes him so difficult to contain is that he never seems to be moving all that fast—until suddenly, the defender is frozen and Mingo is past him in a blur.”
Will Wade and his staff have recently begun showing interest in several 2026 prospects. Still, with their attention primarily directed toward finalizing the 2025–26 roster in Raleigh, it’s no surprise that no players in the 2026 class have reported offers from NC State since the new coaching regime took over in March.
