Wolfpack Signee Matthew Able Among U19 USA Basketball Camp Invitees

NC State signee Matthew Able has been invited to the 2025 USA Basketball Men’s U19 National Team training camp, set to begin on June 14 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Able is among 33 athletes selected to compete for a spot on the 12-man roster that will represent the United States at the FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup in Switzerland from June 28 to July 6 .

Standing at 6’5″, Able is a four-star shooting guard from Sagemont Prep in Florida. He committed to NC State in April 2025, choosing the Wolfpack over offers from Miami, Virginia, and Baylor . Known for his athleticism, perimeter shooting, and defensive prowess, Able has been a standout performer on the AAU circuit with Southeast Elite.

The training camp will be led by Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd, with assistance from Texas Tech’s Grant McCasland and Notre Dame’s Micah Shrewsberry. Court coaches include Hubert Davis (North Carolina), Nate Oats (Alabama), and Mark Pope (Kentucky) . The final 12-man roster is expected to be announced before the team’s departure for Switzerland.

This invitation marks a significant milestone in Able’s burgeoning basketball career, offering him the opportunity to showcase his talents on an international stage and contribute to Team USA’s pursuit of gold at the U19 World Cup.
