The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team may have wrapped up its season, but head coach Dawn Staley remains front and center in the spotlight.
The Gamecocks concluded their impressive campaign with a tough loss to Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies in the national championship game. Still, the season marked yet another Final Four appearance under Staley—one of the most accomplished coaches in women’s basketball history.
Before falling to UConn, South Carolina powered through a strong tournament run, defeating Tennessee Tech, Indiana, Maryland, Duke, and Texas. Now, the team is already setting its sights on another Final Four push, with off-season practices and planning underway.
Off the court, Staley recently made headlines with some exciting news. She’s bringing her Uncommon Favor book tour to South Carolina, including a stop in Columbia.
“To all my SC FAMs!” Staley announced. “We’re just three weeks away from linking up for the Uncommon Favor book tour. Join me on May 29 for a conversation with our very own, the Honorable J. Michelle Childs. You’ll get a signed copy of my book and a quick pic with me—let’s gooo!”
While Staley had previously announced book tour stops in New York and Philadelphia, she officially confirmed the addition of South Carolina on Thursday, delighting local fans eager for a chance to connect with the Gamecocks’ legendary coach.
Fans attending the event will receive a signed copy of Uncommon Favor and have the chance to take a photo with Coach Staley, as she confirmed in her announcement.
