RJ Davis leads Team One past Caleb Love and Team Four in G League Elite Camp showdown

In one of the most highly anticipated showdowns at the G League Elite Camp, former UNC basketball standouts RJ Davis and Caleb Love faced off for the first time in their careers.

Despite the NCAA Tournament committee’s efforts to set up this clash — particularly during the 2023-2024 season — this matchup at the Elite Camp was the closest fans got.

Ultimately, Davis came out on top, leading Team One to a dominant win over Love and Team Four.

Following a solid 14-point performance on Saturday, RJ Davis delivered another strong showing to close out the weekend. He tallied 13 points and dished out five assists, showcasing his playmaking ability and unselfishness in creating quality looks for his teammates.

A pivotal moment came with under five minutes remaining, when Davis buried back-to-back three-pointers to all but seal the victory. His clutch shooting helped Team One cap off a perfect 2-0 run at the G League Elite Camp.

Caleb Love also turned in an impressive performance, leading Team Four with 13 points while adding four steals—highlighting his athleticism and defensive instincts.

With the G League Elite Camp now wrapping up, attention shifts to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. Select standouts from the camp will receive invitations to stay and participate, and both Davis and Love have made compelling cases to be among those chosen.

Regardless of what comes next, both former Tar Heels made strong impressions in front of NBA executives. Now, the hope is that their efforts have caught the eye of at least one team willing to take a chance on them in this year’s draft.
