Ahead of the 2025 USA Basketball Men’s U19 National Team training camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Basketball has released the list of 33 athletes slated to participate.
The training camp is set to begin on June 14, leading up to the selection of a 12-player roster for the 2025 FIBA Men’s World Cup in Switzerland. As USA Basketball assesses a talented pool of players, Hubert Davis has been named a coach for this year’s camp.
The 2025 USA Basketball Men’s U19 National Team will be led by head coach Tommy Lloyd of Arizona, with Texas Tech’s Grant McCasland and Notre Dame’s Micah Shrewsberry serving as assistant coaches.
North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis will take part in training camp as a court coach, working alongside Alabama’s Nate Oats and Kentucky’s Mark Pope. While his role is focused on helping evaluate and prepare the team, the experience also presents a potential recruiting advantage for the Tar Heels.
Although most of the 33 camp participants are either current college players or incoming freshmen, several standout prospects from the Class of 2026 will be in attendance. Among them are Deron Rippey Jr., Jordan Smith Jr., Caleb Holt, and Tyran Stokes—all of whom hold offers from North Carolina and will have the chance to work directly with Davis during camp.
Davis’ inclusion as a court coach reflects the respect he commands within the coaching community and gives him a unique opportunity to contribute to the selection of Team USA’s final roster. It also allows him to collaborate with some of the nation’s top coaching minds while gaining early exposure to elite recruits, providing valuable insight for future recruiting cycles.
