Former Ohio State Football Player Kirk Barton Arrested for Aggravated Vehicular Homicide After Fatal Crash

Kirk Barton, a 40-year-old former Ohio State football player, has been arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular homicide following a fatal crash in Dublin, Ohio.
According to city officials, Barton was driving his pickup truck at a “high rate of speed” on West Bridge Street just before 3 a.m. when he collided with a Lexus. The driver of the Lexus, Ethan Perry, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Barton sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital into police custody. He was subsequently taken to the Franklin County Jail.
Barton played as an offensive guard for Ohio State and was selected by the Chicago Bears in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
