Jennie Baranczyk Receives Contract Extension as Oklahoma Women’s Basketball Eyes SEC Success
NORMAN, Okla. — June 14, 2025 — The University of Oklahoma has announced a two-year contract extension for head women’s basketball coach Jennie Baranczyk, cementing her leadership through the 2029–30 season as the Sooners prepare for their highly anticipated transition to the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
Baranczyk, who has revitalized the Oklahoma program since her arrival in 2021, will now remain under contract until June 30, 2030. Her base salary will continue at $300,000, but with increased supplemental income and retention bonuses, her total annual compensation will exceed $1 million. Beginning July 1, 2025, Baranczyk will receive annual raises of $50,000, alongside a $150,000 annual retention bonus.
This contract extension follows back-to-back Big 12 regular-season championships in 2023 and 2024 and a Sweet Sixteen appearance in her most recent NCAA Tournament campaign. Her success has placed Oklahoma among the elite programs in women’s college basketball and built strong momentum ahead of their SEC debut.
“Coach Baranczyk has transformed our women’s basketball program in just a few short years,” said OU Athletic Director Joe Castiglione. “Her commitment to excellence, player development, and the student-athlete experience makes her the perfect leader for our continued growth in the SEC.”

With a proven track record and now one of the top compensation packages in women’s college basketball, Baranczyk is positioned to keep the Sooners competitive at the national level well into the next decade.
