Syracuse Basketball Showing Interest in 2027 Baltimore Guard Terrence Jones III
Terrence Jones III, a rising 2027 point/combo guard from Baltimore, has drawn recent interest from multiple college programs—including Syracuse—according to top scouting analyst Trent Watson.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound standout plays for Saint Frances Academy, a perennial powerhouse in Baltimore prep hoops and a familiar recruiting ground for Syracuse coaches. This spring and summer, Jones is competing with Team Melo’s 16U squad in Nike’s EYBL circuit.
At a recent EYBL live session in Memphis, Tenn., attended by college coaches and Syracuse staff, Jones turned heads with a pair of strong outings: 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists in one game, followed by 19 points, 7 assists, and 4 boards in another.
Watson reported that following this live period, Jones has received interest from schools such as Syracuse, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Maryland, and UAB. Although Syracuse has yet to extend a formal offer, Jones already holds offers from Villanova, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Hampton, and Nicholls State.
June 15 marks the date when college coaches can directly contact class of 2027 recruits. With Jones gaining momentum, expect his offer list to continue growing.
So far, Syracuse has extended six offers in the 2027 cycle—including recent ones to four-star big man Isaiah Hill and four-star forward/center Caleb Ourigou. Other early targets include five-star prospects Baba Oladotun, Paul Osaruyi, Moussa Kamissoko, and Zion Green.
With the college landscape shifting heavily toward the transfer portal, expect Syracuse—and programs nationwide—to be more selective in extending high school offers. As June 15 approaches, it will be interesting to see which juniors receive offers from the Orange as they continue to evaluate the 2027 class.
