With the summer evaluation period in full swing, college basketball recruiting is ramping up as programs begin to shape their 2026 classes heading into the fall. North Carolina has yet to secure a commitment from the 2026 cycle but continues to actively pursue several key prospects on its recruiting board.
One top target is five-star small forward Tajh Ariza, the son of former NBA player Trevor Ariza. Hailing from Bellflower, California, Ariza stars at St. John Bosco and is considered one of the premier talents in his class. He recently provided an update on his recruitment.
According to Eric Bossi of 247Sports, Ariza has scheduled official visits with three programs and plans to visit a fourth. He will visit Oregon on September 6, North Carolina on September 12, and USC on September 20. A visit to Texas is also in the works, though a date has yet to be finalized.
Standing at 6-foot-9 and weighing 195 pounds, Tajh Ariza is ranked No. 8 overall in the 2026 class, the No. 2 small forward, and the No. 5 player in California, according to 247Sports. He currently holds 13 scholarship offers, and that number is expected to grow as his recruitment continues to gain momentum.
