UNC Basketball Lands Taylen Kinney’s First Official ACC Visit

Since receiving a scholarship offer from UNC basketball in late February, Overtime Elite (Ga.) junior Taylen Kinney has consistently listed the Tar Heels as a strong contender in his recruitment. This week, League Ready’s Sam Kayser confirmed that Hubert Davis and his staff remain firmly in the mix for the 6-foot-2, 180-pound guard.

However, UNC won’t be the first ACC program to host Kinney for an official visit. That honor goes to Louisville, as the five-star prospect is set to visit the Cardinals starting June 5.

Taylen Kinney — a highly skilled three-level scorer who earned Offensive MVP honors at last weekend’s talent-packed 3SSB grassroots session in Nebraska — is also weighing offers from Purdue, Kentucky, Arkansas, Oregon, and Kansas, among several other programs, according to Sam Kayser.

Kinney is one of roughly a dozen prospects on UNC basketball’s 2026 recruiting radar. While Hubert Davis and his staff have yet to land a commitment in the cycle, which is still in its early stages, their target list is stacked with primarily five-star talent.
