One such splash could come from UNC’s ongoing pursuit of Luka Bogavac, a 21-year-old guard from Montenegro. After weeks of speculation, new insider buzz on Friday indicates the Tar Heels may now be the clear favorite to land the 6-foot-5, 201-pound standout—a skilled and instinctive backcourt presence known for his polished shooting and high basketball IQ.
This past season—his second with Montenegro’s SC Derby and fourth overall in the ABA League—Luka Bogavac delivered a breakout performance. The 21-year-old guard nearly doubled his scoring average from the previous year, posting 14.9 points per game. He also contributed 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest, while showcasing impressive efficiency: 45.1 percent shooting from the field, 39.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 87.0 percent at the free-throw line.
