The Cowboys reached a new season high in total points scored against any D-1 opponent.
Wyoming Cowboys (6-5) 92
Bellarmine Knights (3-9) 55
A dominating performance.
The Cowboys nearly posted a perfect shooting line, almost achieving 50% from the field, 40% from three, and 90% from the free-throw line.
Five players scored in double digits as Wyoming out-rebounded Bellarmine by double.
The Pokes were simply bigger, faster, and stronger, taking control early on.
Even KenPom didn’t expect this large of a margin, which led to Wyoming’s jump from No. 202 to No. 173 in the rankings.
Key Player of the Night
WYO No. 5 – Guard Obi Agbim
Agbim had his best game of the 2024 season, setting a season-high with 28 points, including eight three-pointers. He also matched his most efficient shooting performance, hitting 76.9% of his shots. His highlight came with a spectacular one-handed dunk on a fast break. Agbim also contributed five rebounds and five assists, and for Wyoming to make noise in Mountain West play, they’ll need more performances like this from him.
Agbim’s final stat line: 28 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 10-13 FG, 8-10 3PT.
WYO No. 3 – Guard A.J. Willis
Willis, just a sophomore, has been steadily growing into a key role for Wyoming. He’s scored 10 or more points in two of the last three games and added seven assists against Bellarmine, improving his season total to 18. Willis’s contribution off the bench has been vital for Wyoming.
Willis’s final stat line: 13 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, 5-7 FG, 3-5 3PT.
WYO No. 5 – Forward Matija Belic
In his first start, Belic had a solid performance with 12 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 block. It’s clear head coach Sundance Wicks has been waiting for Belic’s availability, as his role allowed Touko Tainamo to shine off the bench with 11 points.
Belic’s final stat line: 12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 6-9 FG, 0-2 3PT.
