Brendan Duty of The Athletic recently proposed that the Yankees might acquire a player from the Los Angeles Dodgers as a replacement for Torres. Duty proposed that New York might acquire Dodgers free agent Kike Hernández during this winter. Hernández is expected to sign for approximately $3 million, according to Spotrac.

Hernández might not be the least favorable choice for the Yankees. Last season, he wasn’t exceptional, but he showed versatility. The experienced utility player posted a .229/.281/.373 line with a 1.3 WAR and hit 12 home runs.
He won’t step up and secure victories for the Yankees, but the Bronx Bombers don’t require anyone to do that. Bringing him on board for about $3 million would be an excellent deal and significantly enhance the depth in the Bronx.
