On Monday, Alabama’s coaching team traveled to Texas to evaluate several of the nation’s leading recruiting targets and prospects. Among the recruits who received an offer from Alabama is the 2027 four-star quarterback Colton Nussmeier.
He is the child of former Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and the younger sibling of LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.
Colton is expected to be among the highest-rated quarterbacks in the ‘27 class. He is recorded as standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 180 pounds. The left-handed player served as the starting quarterback at Marcus High School (TX) during the recent season. He passed for 1,894 yards, 16 touchdown passes, and three picks.
A lengthy list of admirers will be chasing after the younger Nussemeier. Programs that have also provided Nussmeier include Georgia, LSU, Auburn, and Michigan.
Alabama has extended an offer to just one other quarterback in the ’27 class. That’s four-star recruit and Alabama native Trent Seaborn. It will be intriguing to observe how the Crimson Tide choose to recruit Nussmeier in the future. He is certainly a candidate to monitor closely.
