The Ohio State Buckeyes dominated the college football scene, clinching a national title with a 14-2 record.
Ohio State conquered Notre Dame, Texas, Oregon, and Tennessee in the College Football Playoff on their way to the national championship.
After an impressive stint with the Buckeyes, offensive line coach Justin Frye is anticipated to take on the same position with the Arizona Cardinals, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Frye has been the offensive line coach for the Buckeyes starting in 2022. Before joining Ohio State, Frye served on the staff at UCLA, Indiana, Florida, Temple, and Boston College, holding a role as an offensive line or offensive coordinator.
Frye assisted Ohio State in establishing one of the top offenses during the 2024 college football season. The Buckeyes controlled the line of scrimmage in the College Football Playoff, finishing the national championship game with 231 passing yards and 214 rushing yards, achieving a 9-of-12 success rate on third downs.
In the 34-23 victory against the Fighting Irish in the national championship, quarterback Will Howard was taken down only twice, ending the game with a 99.1 QBR.
Fyre is set to bring his skills to the NFL for the first time ever in his career.
He is now the second member of the Ohio State coaching staff to depart the program following the national championship. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles became the initial staff member to leave the program, taking the same position at Penn State.
