The relationship has progressed rapidly between Notre Dame and 2026 Red Oak (Texas) High School wide receiver Brayden Robinson. A player that the Irish coaching staff has admired for some time, Robinson visited South Bend for the first time on January 25th for Junior Day. According to all reports, the visit went exceptionally well, and Notre Dame is a genuine contender for the Texas standout.
Everything went so smoothly that Robinson has already arranged a return visit to Notre Dame, this time for an official trip. Robinson is scheduled to take that journey from June 20-22. He likewise arranged two additional official trips to Miami (June 6-8) and Ohio State (June 13-15). It is uncertain whether additional official visits will occur, but at this moment, the Fighting Irish may present the last pitch in this recruitment before a decision is reached in the summer.
Robinson is finishing a stellar junior season with Red Oak, having led the team with 79 catches totaling 1,119 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a junior, he was the leading punt and kick returner for the team.
Though he stands at 5-8 and weighs 160 pounds, Robinson has attracted attention from numerous prominent football programs early on because of his ability to make big plays. The Texas prospect has received offers from numerous schools, including the Irish, Ohio State, Texas, Oregon, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Nebraska, and Penn State, among many others.
247Sports ranks Robinson as the No. 205 overall player and the No. 34 wide receiver in the 2026 recruitment class. Their platform ranks him as the No. 32 overall player in Texas, a state renowned for producing elite talent like few others in the nation. Robinson holds a similar position on the 247Sports Composite rankings, identified as the No. 211 overall athlete in that list.
Wide receiver Dylan Faison was a great early addition for the 2026 Notre Dame class alongside star quarterback Noah Grubbs. Incorporating a player like Robinson in the future would be significant for the team. He is precisely the kind of space talent that the program requires significantly more of as they evolve into a more dynamic offensive team.
If Texas Tech general manager James Blanchard takes the job with Notre Dame, it indicates progress toward finalizing this commitment. Due to his Texas background, Robinson is a player who knows Blanchard very well. That could be a significant enhancement to the presentation.
