Oregon presently ranks first in the nation for the 2026 recruiting class. Similar to 2025, Oregon is pursuing the best talent nationwide and is speculated to be involved with numerous four-and-five star recruits.
They are presently among the candidates for the No. 1 offensive tackle and the top overall recruit, Jackson Cantwell. Just behind Cantwell in the overall On3 ranking is offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, and currently, Ducks fans have reasons to feel hopeful.
In recent years, Oregon has depended on the transfer portal to improve their offensive line, and while this strategy has worked well, it is not the most sustainable method.
Dan Lanning and his team are evidently aiming to alter that strategy. They have secured a verbal commitment from top offensive lineman Kodi Greene, and with their strong position for the nation’s two best offensive linemen, it’s clear that the Ducks aim to strengthen their line through recruiting. Securing either Cantwell or Iheanacho would be incredible. However, there’s a chance they could secure both, forming a top-tier duo of bookends that may serve as reliable pillars for the Ducks’ offensive line for over three years to come.
Clearly, the top opportunities are difficult to secure. Even if the Ducks receive verbal commitments from one or both of these offensive linemen, it will be a struggle to retain them right up to the early signing period next December.
Lanning is undoubtedly prioritizing the recruitment of an elite offensive line in the future. Keeping an eye on these two prospects will be vital for the possible elite level of Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class.
