Day replied that the journalist was correct.
“I’m certainly feeling more at ease,” he stated. “It’s insane to claim that I’m not.” There is no doubt. We’re in a different situation than we were a few months back. “I suggest we label it for what it truly is.”
Throughout the years, Day has consistently expressed his enthusiasm for raising awareness about mental health. He has faced his personal issues since his father took his life when he was a child.
After the defeat to Michigan in last year’s regular season finale, fans aggressively criticized the head coach. Day’s wife confided in him, revealing some startling comments directed at him.
“They repeatedly advised me to encourage Ryan to follow his dad’s example and take his own life,” she stated.
Witnessing Day regroup and spearhead a championship run after enduring such mental strain was remarkable and an achievement he should take great pride in.
