Although the 2024-25 season wrapped up just a few weeks ago, the offseason has already been a whirlwind for Kansas basketball fans. Five former Jayhawks have entered the transfer portal, including the surprising departure of former five-star recruit Flory Bidunga.
With schools nationwide pursuing dozens of portal targets, keeping track of KU’s potential additions can be overwhelming. To help Jayhawk fans stay informed, we’ll be providing regular news round-ups throughout the offseason.
Transfer Portal Targets
Kansas has shown reported interest in Keyshawn Hall, Josh Dix, and Treysen Eaglestaff, with Hall currently looking like the most likely option. He recently met with KU coaches over Zoom.
Dix, however, appears to be an increasingly unlikely addition. Many expected him to commit during his visit to Lawrence, but he visited Illinois shortly after and is reportedly considering Indiana, making a Big Ten stay more probable. Meanwhile, Eaglestaff committed to South Carolina over the weekend, ending KU’s pursuit of him.
UAB star Yaxel Lendeborg also entered the portal, sparking hope among Jayhawk fans that Kansas would be in the mix. However, KU does not appear to be actively pursuing him, as the program was not mentioned among his top suitors in a recent On3 report.
One potential target to watch is Monmouth guard Abdi Bashir, who averaged 20.1 points per game last season. He had a Zoom meeting with the Kansas coaching staff on Monday and spoke with Kansas State on Tuesday. A native of Omaha, Bashir seems interested in returning to the Midwest.
