FAYETTEVILLE — Wyvette Mayberry, a transfer guard from Kansas, committed to the Arkansas women’s basketball team on Thursday, according to On3.
The 5-7 Mayberry averaged 10.1 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.6 rebounds during her three seasons with the Jayhawks. She will enter her sixth year in 2025-26 after missing most of the 2024-25 season due to a knee injury.
Mayberry is the daughter of Arkansas men’s basketball legend Lee Mayberry, the program’s third all-time leading scorer.
Wyvette began her collegiate career at Tulsa, where she played for two seasons, averaging 13.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3 assists. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa while her father served as an assistant coach at Oral Roberts.
Lee Mayberry was part of the ORU staff before Kelsi Musick took over as head coach for the Golden Eagles from 2022 to 2025.
Wyvette Mayberry transferred to Kansas ahead of the 2022-23 season, playing a pivotal role in helping the Jayhawks reach the Women’s National Invitation Tournament title game. She started 31 of 34 games that season and scored 10 points in a WNIT quarterfinal victory over Arkansas.
In the 2023-24 season, Mayberry started all 32 games and contributed to Kansas’ advancement to the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. She posted 15 points and 5 assists in a thrilling 81-72 overtime win against Michigan in the first round.
Over her career, Mayberry has maintained a 37.5% field goal shooting percentage, 31.1% from beyond the arc, and a 75.4% free throw percentage.
She is the first transfer addition of the offseason for Musick and the Razorbacks.
