Hunter Dickinson and the Kansas Jayhawks wrapped up their college basketball season with a disappointing early exit, falling to John Calipari’s Arkansas Razorbacks in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Kansas had entered the tournament as a No. 7 seed, despite starting the season ranked No. 1 in the nation.
Following the underwhelming finish, a few Jayhawks opted to enter the transfer portal. Among them was AJ Storr, who had transferred to Kansas to play under Bill Self and his staff but chose to move on after just one season with the program.
In response to the news, Dickinson took to social media, sharing a video of Storr in the locker room. Alongside the clip, he commented, “AJ Storr. Who’s the lucky No. 8? Time will tell. Time will tell.”
In his only season with the Kansas Jayhawks, AJ Storr averaged 6.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game.
Prior to joining Kansas, Storr had stints at both Wisconsin and St. John’s, making his upcoming move his fourth in as many collegiate seasons.
Dickinson’s comment about “No. 8” refers to Storr’s extensive basketball journey — the transfer will mark the eighth program he’s been a part of since his freshman year of high school.
