John Calipari has wasted no time transforming the Arkansas Razorbacks men’s basketball program into a national powerhouse. With a strong 2025 recruiting class already taking shape, Calipari has attracted several blue-chip prospects to Fayetteville.
This past season, Arkansas was led by key contributors like Adou Thiero, Boogie Fland, Johnell Davis, and a few others who consistently made an impact. One standout among the group was freshman Karter Knox, who wrapped up his debut season averaging 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game.
Now, Knox is testing the NBA Draft waters, exploring the possibility of making the jump to the professional level. Calipari shared his support for Knox’s decision in a recent social media post.
“As you read today, Karter is testing the waters, which I fully agree with,” Calipari wrote. “That being said, I’m liking this group.”
Knox’s decision adds to the ongoing roster changes and momentum surrounding Calipari’s new era with the Razorbacks.
Karter Knox joined the Razorbacks as a highly touted five-star recruit, ranked as the No. 8 small forward and the No. 22 overall player in the nation, according to 247Sports. While John Calipari will certainly feel the impact of losing Knox’s production, help is on the way.
Arkansas is set to welcome two elite prospects this offseason: Darius Acuff Jr. and Maleek Thomas, both of whom are expected to make immediate contributions and keep the program’s momentum rolling under Calipari’s leadership.
