Paul Finebaum is no stranger to taking jabs at any successful program outside the SEC—and Clemson football is no exception.
The outspoken SEC Network personality has long been a staunch defender of the Southeastern Conference, often at the expense of programs from other parts of the country. That unwavering loyalty was on display once again this past weekend when a caller on his show brought up the long-standing debate over the “real” Death Valley.
As many fans know, both Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge and Memorial Stadium in Clemson share the iconic nickname. The caller suggested that Finebaum should attend next season’s Clemson vs. LSU season opener to settle the debate in person. But Finebaum didn’t hesitate to respond, confidently declaring that he doesn’t need to be at the game to know the real Death Valley is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
