Legendary South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley is known for her wisdom both on and off the court. But recently, she showed off her playful side while sending some love to 2025 WNBA Draft pick Bree Hall.
Hall, fresh off a national championship run in her final season at South Carolina, was selected 20th overall by the Indiana Fever. She officially signed her rookie contract a few weeks later and is set to begin training camp with the team on April 27.
Staley took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate her former player’s big move—and to drop a bit of cheeky advice along the way.
“Let’s gooooooo!!” Staley wrote, tagging Hall. “Always ready! Always steady! Listen to your vets. It’s a safe bets. Ya dig!” She topped off the post with laughing emojis and the hashtag #barzforbreezy, turning her rhyming message into a lighthearted moment of mentorship.
