Tru Edwards, a standout wide receiver from Louisiana Tech, has signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent, bypassing his previously announced transfer to the University of Kentucky, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Edwards had committed to Kentucky in January 2025 with hopes of strengthening the Wildcats’ receiving corps. However, his addition was never formally finalized, as he did not sign a National Letter of Intent. When A Sea of Blue contacted Kentucky in March regarding Edwards’ eligibility, the program confirmed there were delays, leaving his status unresolved.
At Louisiana Tech, Edwards put together an impressive 2024 season, hauling in 84 receptions for 986 yards and eight touchdowns, earning First-Team All-Conference USA honors. Across his college career, he totaled 112 catches for 1,307 yards and eight touchdowns.
Recognizing his potential, the Rams signed Edwards following the 2025 NFL Draft, reinforcing their commitment to bolstering their offensive options. His move from a prospective SEC addition to an NFL signee highlights both the unpredictability of college athletics and the value of adaptability in chasing professional dreams.
