Cooper Flagg Shines On and Off the Court as Duke Dominates ACC Honors
The Duke Blue Devils capped off a stellar season with an ACC Championship and a Final Four appearance in the NCAA Tournament, driven by the standout play of National Player of the Year Cooper Flagg. In his first college season, Flagg racked up numerous accolades, including ACC Player of the Year, ACC Freshman of the Year, and consensus first-team All-American honors.
But Flagg’s success wasn’t limited to the court. On Tuesday, he was named to the All-ACC Academic Team, one of seven Duke players to earn the recognition. He was joined by Tyrese Proctor, Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach, Caleb Foster, Mason Gillis, and Sion James.
With these honors, Duke extends its record to 120 total All-ACC Academic Team selections—the most in conference history—and has now produced 15 honorees over the last two seasons. “Got 7 on the All-ACC Academic Team this year!” the program posted proudly on social media.
Flagg, widely projected as the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, continues to build a legacy marked by excellence on every front.

Fresh off leading Duke to an ACC Championship and a Final Four run, Cooper Flagg continues to earn accolades—this time for his academic achievements. The freshman phenom was one of 77 student-athletes named to the All-ACC Academic Team and one of just 11 to also receive All-ACC honors for his performance on the court.
Flagg, the National Player of the Year and a projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, added this academic milestone to a remarkable debut season that also included ACC Player of the Year, ACC Freshman of the Year, and consensus first-team All-American honors.
To qualify for the All-ACC Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA both for the previous semester and cumulatively, in addition to competing in at least 50 percent of their team’s games.
Duke had seven players earn academic recognition—tied for second-most among all ACC schools alongside NC State. Stanford led the way with nine honorees. Joining Flagg from Duke were Tyrese Proctor, Kon Knueppel, Khaman Maluach, Caleb Foster, Mason Gillis, and Sion James.
This brings Duke’s all-time total to 120 All-ACC Academic Team selections, the most in conference history. The program has now produced 15 academic honorees over the past two seasons.
With his freshman season complete, Flagg now turns his focus toward preparing for the 2025 NBA Draft.
