NC State basketball added a key piece to its future last week with the commitment of Colt Langdon. Now, the transfer from Butler — and the all-time leading scorer at nearby Millbrook High School in Raleigh — has made it official by signing with the Wolfpack.
In a statement announcing Langdon’s addition to the 2025-26 roster, first-year head coach Will Wade emphasized the importance of in-state recruiting.
“Recruiting the state of North Carolina is going to be important to our program,” Wade said. “So to get a kid like Colt, who you can tell is going to take a lot of pride in putting on that NC State uniform, is great for us. I’m excited to have him with the Pack.”
Wade praised Langdon’s shooting ability and potential for growth.
“He’s a great shooter who can score from anywhere on the court. Like any young player, he’s just beginning to scratch the surface of what he can become. But he has the work ethic to do great things, and I believe he’ll be a strong addition to our locker room.”
Colt Langdon redshirted his freshman season at Butler, so the 6-foot-7, 205-pound wing arrives at NC State with his full four years of NCAA eligibility intact.
Previously a three-star recruit ranked No. 152 overall in the 2024 class by the 247Sports Composite, Langdon now enters the Wolfpack program as a three-star transfer, coming in at No. 391 in this year’s deep transfer portal class.
Originally a member of the 2025 recruiting class, Colt Langdon opted to reclassify and enroll early, joining Butler’s 2024-25 roster. Now, after redshirting his freshman season, he brings that early college experience — along with four full years of eligibility — to NC State.
