Badgers Make Epic Push into Final Four for No.1 2026 Tight End Before May 14 Decision

Badgers Host Top 2026 Tight End Gavin Mueller Ahead of May 14 Commitment

The Wisconsin Badgers recently welcomed four-star tight end Gavin Mueller to campus for an official visit—his final stop in Madison before announcing his college decision on May 14.

The Illinois native, a top target for Wisconsin in the 2026 recruiting cycle, holds 25 scholarship offers but has narrowed his list to four finalists: Wisconsin, LSU, Notre Dame, and Colorado.

Mueller’s recruitment has picked up pace in recent weeks. He visited Notre Dame unofficially two weeks ago, followed by last week’s official trip to Wisconsin. He’s scheduled to take official visits to Colorado and LSU in the coming days before making his final decision.

Although Wisconsin has shown interest in several tight ends in the 2026 class, Mueller stands out as their No. 1 priority at the position. Landing him would be a significant win for the Badgers, especially at a position of need.

The Badgers currently hold six commitments in their 2026 class: defensive lineman Carmelow Reed, quarterback Ryan Hopkins, wide receiver Tayshon Bardo, offensive tackle Maddox Cochrane, cornerback Carsen Eloms, and offensive lineman Benjamin Novak. Mueller has the potential to be the seventh, further boosting a promising spring for Wisconsin on the recruiting trail.
