JUST IN: Notre Dame Football Aims for Major Georgia Commitment to Switch Sides.

Le football de Notre Dame semble faire de son mieux pour attirer l’un des meilleurs safeties de la classe de recrutement 2026.

Zech Fort, a 5-10 safety from the renowned IMG Academy in Florida, has been committed to Georgia since late January; however, he mentions that this commitment has only intensified the pursuit from a few other programs hoping to acquire him.

“Fort informed On3 that Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Miami, Florida, USC, and a few others are aggressively pursuing him at the moment.”

“I continue to feel positive about Georgia,” he remarked.

But how great is he if he hasn’t closed his recruitment yet? Clearly, there’s still a significant journey ahead, but in a sense, having him recognize your efforts seems like the best outcome Notre Dame could hope for at this moment.

Fort is listed as the 87th overall player in the 2026 class by 247Sports. The IMG Academy safety had already been listed on the rosters for both the Polynesian Bowl and Under Armour All-America Game earlier this year.

I was intrigued, so I reached out to someone well-acquainted with the IMG Academy football program to ask how Fort measures up against the numerous players that the program has sent to the NFL.

“Beast, he’s truly a beast” is the reply I swiftly received.

Regardless of whether it’s Notre Dame, Georgia, or another option entirely, Fort will attract an impressive level of talent to his next destination.
